Cor-re-lation

a mutual relationship or connection between two or more things

Selected Works from the Permanent Collection
Dates: January 29th – March 29th 2026
Curator: Charlotte Hale
Gallery: B & C
Exhibition Reception: Wednesday, February 4th, 7:00 – 9:00pm

An exhibition that explores the synchronicity and connection between humans and each other, the earth, flora and fauna, and the universe. As we start a new year, these relationships seem to be more important than ever. We know that we affect and are affected by energy all around us. This exhibition will illustrate this dynamic in the expression in print and other mediums by artists in the Permanent Collection.

The Permanent Collection at Station Gallery

A Short History

Station Gallery’s  Permanent Collection  currently holds over 400 works, plus archives. The community initiated the collection in 1980 by acquiring gifts from numerous Ontario artists associated with the gallery along with Open Studio, a prominent Toronto printmaking facility. The original intention was to create a commemorative print collection in memory of the late Nicholas Novak, a gifted artist who had been strongly associated with both institutions.

A Very Busy Set of Artworks

We actively and energetically strive to connect our community with the art in the Permanent Collection by exhibiting work each year, linking our studio classes to the exhibitions, using the pieces for school visits, and by taking works “on the road” to visit schools and community groups. In 2026 we will be travelling a curated selection to the Aurora Cultural Centre in an exciting exhibition partnership.

The Cor-re-lation exhibition is our annual Permanent Collection exhibition for 2026 and our interim curator has carefully selected a themed show from our 244 framed prints. Of special note,: our Permanent Collection contains 45 pieces created by Indigenous artists. They vary greatly, ranging from traditional content to up-to-the-minute contemporary production.
