In a chance discovery of a trove of negatives in 2007 by a young collector, a story began to unfold about a nanny in New York City who, unbeknownst to anyone that knew her, was a street photographer with extraordinary talent. Join us as we chronicle the posthumous rocket to fame that Vivian Maier never experienced, the sordid business of ownership of her collection, and why she is now firmly established as a photographic genius in contemporary American art.

Presented by film historian and archivist Terry Lagler, and motivational speaker and movie buff Tim Westhead, this evening talk promises to be both fun and frightening! It’s a fine way to kick off Halloween celebrations, so bring along a friend to double your dread, Daddy-O!
